School Trips
Information about school trips to and from school for pupils in primary and secondary school.
When you are in primary or secondary school, your municipality may, upon application, decide that you have the right to travel to and from school on public transport.
With a school ticket, you can travel two one-way journeys per day with public transport in Umeå. The ticket is valid on all school days and on individual holidays during the school year. During the Christmas, sports, Easter and autumn holidays, you cannot travel on the school ticket. A change of bus to another route must be made within two hours of the start of the journey.
The school ticket must be used as long as you attend the school. In the first month of the autumn term, a trip must be made, then the ticket is loaded with the new academic year.
The school ticket is personal and you must be prepared to prove your identity. Otherwise, no ticket checks are carried out for pupils in compulsory school. For high school students, ticket checks are carried out.

If the card is broken or if you try to travel more trips than allowed, the ticket machine "beeps". Broken cards are replaced at the school's office.
It is your municipality that processes and decides on this.
