Ticket inspections
We regularly carry out ticket inspections on board the county's buses. It is your responsibility as a passenger to have a valid ticket.
Traveller's responsibility
It is the passenger's responsibility to find out which ticket is required for the journey, and to register/activate the ticket or card immediately upon boarding. Keep the ticket for the duration of your journey, as it is proof that you have paid for your journey.
Inspection and surcharge
Ticket inspections are carried out by Avarn Security on behalf of Länstrafiken i Västerbotten AB. Most checks are random checks carried out by uniformed personnel.
The purpose of our checks is to prevent unauthorised travel and to increase the number of paying passengers. Anyone who does not have a valid travel pass or presents an incorrect or invalid travel pass is required to pay an additional fee of SEK 1,500 in addition to the regular price for the trip.
For customers who want their surcharge on installments, Länstrafiken will perform a credit check.
Anyonetravelling on age-discounted tickets must be prepared to prove your identity. This also applies to those who travel on an upper secondary school card.
How to appeal
If you have received a surcharge and want to contest this, you should contact Länstrafiken i Västerbotten AB.
